Description
The World of Gourmet Wild Mushrooms, still in development, is our in-depth online course for beginners and advanced students alike. It was created by Ryan Bouchard, author of Gourmet Mushrooms of the Northeast (2019) and president of The Mushroom Hunting Foundation. Throughout the year, from May until December, you’ll learn different mushroom species, flavors and cooking techniques, equipment, and various other aspects of this incredible hobby. The course is designed not only to get people started, but also to take seasoned mushroom hunters to the next level. It covers the basics and the safety rules, and plenty of the featured mushrooms are recommended for beginners; meanwhile, every other lesson will address something more challenging, including many boletes and expert-level gilled mushrooms. As the new, seasonally-appropriate chapters and lessons are released throughout the year, Ryan will be available to answer your questions, and will also discuss with you your picture messages (within reasonable numbers). You can expect astonishing photography–recent photos, as well as others that Ryan has looked forward to sharing for a long time. The diversity of shapes, colors, and flavors is unbelievable.
