Russula mushrooms are as common in the summertime as mosquitos, and like many mushroom groups, some in the Russula category are edible and some are not.\u00a0 Additionally, they have white gills (ordinarily) and they share this characteristic with some very dangerous varieties.\u00a0 However, the Russulas usually have very colorful caps that set them apart.\u00a0 This edible Russula species, known as the Green-Quilted Russula (Russula parvovirescens<\/em>), has lovely ornamentation like a stained glass window, or the pattern on a quilt, which can be quite striking.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
