Here is a small assortment of just a few of the incredible varieties of mushrooms that are available during the Summer season.\u00a0 Going clockwise from the top left, first we have the Parasol Mushroom, an expert-level mushroom due to its numerous dangerous look-alikes.\u00a0 Then there are the peachy-brown colored Corrugated Milk Mushrooms, also “not for beginners” because they have gills.\u00a0 The yellow ones are some large Golden Chanterelles that occur during the summer months.\u00a0 And finally, those dark mushrooms are Black Trumpets, Emily’s personal favorite.\u00a0 Black Trumpets are the only ones on this cutting board that we consider “safe for beginners”.\u00a0 They are fully described and explained on the August page of Ryan’s\u00a0 book, Gourmet Mushrooms of the Northeast <\/strong>(no longer available).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
